Serves 2

Avocado toast makes for a great breakfast, lunch or snack. Feel free to embellish it with your favorite toppings like sliced tomatoes, crunchy radishes or hemp seeds for extra protein.

2 each ½ inch thick slices crusty whole wheat bread
1 ripe avocado
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 clove garlic finely minced
pinch red chili flakes
salt and pepper to taste
Toast the bread in the toaster.

In a bowl, mash the avocado and add the lemon, garlic, chili flakes, salt and pepper. Spoon the avocado mixture evenly over the top of each slice of toast and serve.
